On a beautiful afternoon in the shadow of Cow Tower, 8 of our Year 6 children join local theatre company The Common Lot in their latest piece Come Yew In – A Proud History of Strangers in Norwich. Over the past few weeks they have been working with Duncan Joseph to develop a 5 minute piece based on stories of the Kinder transport in World War 2. Their piece then became one of the stories in the 90 minute performance. They are performing again at Peterson Park in Mile Cross at 7.30 on Tuesday evening. Well done to all involved and thanks to everyone who turned up to support them.
At the end of May, the children visited the Forum and were involved in ‘The Friendship project’; whilst there they produced some amazing work. As part of Refugee week this work is now on display at The Millennium Library (Ground floor entrance) for the public to view, so pop along to have a look at some of the wonderful work.
This week at Forest School:

“Spending time with my friends and making friendship necklaces.”

You all did a wonderful job at putting up the canopy and overcoming obstacles in the way. Your amazing team work skills and creativity really shined through this week – well done Year 6s!

Year 6 have been learning about the difficulties that Jewish families faced during World War Two in Nazi Germany and the surrounding countries. We have been writing stories that recount the events and emotions that were experienced by millions of children. We hope that you enjoy reading our work.

Over the Easter Break we would like Y6 to complete the short maths revision booklet that we have sent home and to make a start on their spelling booklets.
We would also like them to complete the next sections of their SAT’s books.

Friday 24th March brought 18 months of collaboration with Annabel and her LiT coaches to a stunning climax. Arriving at the Oak Circus Centre at 9am, Y6 began 4 hours of intensive walk-through and ‘tribe’ rehearsals before performing to over 70 parents and invited guests at 1.30. It was a triumph in all respects, and their successes through the day were beautifully captured by Mr Whalen. Please enjoy the gallery of still images and click on the link below to watch the full performance.
