Wednesday 11th July – circus performance day arrives

Y6’s big day has arrived.  They have been developing their circus skills since January through weekly sessions with LiT tutors, then finalising plans for their performance with Casus Circus over the past three weeks.  Today they met at 8.45am at the Big Top in Chapelfield Gardens for the performance.  The morning was taken up with a technical rehearsal (lights, music, stage positioning), full run through, and final rehearsals for individual and team routines.  Children from Lakenham and The Steiner School were also on the bill.  At 1.30pm, the performance started with the children performing to an audience of well over 300.  It was a superb performance and a wonderful showcase of their hard work this year.  Speaking to the children backstage after the show their thoughts were clear:  we want to do that again, now!

Thanks to families for their support, and to the inspirational tutors from Lost in Translation Circus and Casus Circus.  If you are inspired to see more circus then please click here for a programme of the circus performances taking place this weekend as part of the Circus 250 Festival of Circus.  Click here for the article from the EDP.
