How does electricity travel?
Today we went back to something we first learnt about way back in September- how is electricity generated and how does it travel to our homes?
First, we watched the fantastic YouTube film ‘How does electricity get into our homes?’ Check it out:
Then, we were asked to draw a diagram of how energy travels from a Power Station, to our homes. We were asked to carefully label important things like ‘transformer’, ‘pylons’ and ‘substation’.
Our final challenge was to write 7 sentences to tell the story of this journey in detail.
Once again, Year 6 rose to the challenge and the work they produced was staggering.
Check out the amazing work submitted by Anas, Connor, Jake, Naima and Tegan:
On Monday, we finally get to be back in class working together on our Science Fair presentations. We can’t wait!
