29th September: SCVA India

Y4 had a fantastic day today exploring India through storytelling and artefacts. Having braved the rain on the walk to the UEA, the children went straight into a tour of the gallery with volunteer guides who told them stories from around the world based on the objects and paintings they saw. The rest of the day was divided between a workshop with artist Ian Brownlie where they made close observational drawings of all sorts of Indian artefacts, wrote down questions, and had a go at inventing their own story inspired by the objects seen, and some free time in the gallery for drawing, thinking, looking. Their behaviour was perfect throughout and they were wonderful ambassadors for WJS! Thanks again to our parent helpers who joined us this week.
