What a fabulous day. Year 4 completed their introductory walk of the part of the River Wensum that will be the focus for their Working as Geographers project. We picked up the river at the end of Sycamore Wood, walked across Anderson Meadow, then after a short walk along Marriott’s Way, picked up the river again by the waterfront apartments behind Clickers Road where we stopped to sketch the river. We then walked along the river to the beautiful Wensum Park before making our way back. It was fascinating to look at a familiar landscape through fresh eyes; as geographers would. Thanks to Mr Wild and Mrs Hornsby for planning the route and leading the walk, and to the parent helpers. Thanks also to the children who behaved so well that a member of the public contacted the school to congratulate the children on their exceptional behaviour. Well done.
