After a 6 week introduction to Samba with our Brazilian Samba tutor Duda, Year 6 started the next phase of their work by building their own Samba percussion instruments. Hammers, nails, pliers, bench hooks, (hundreds of) beer bottle tops and much laughter, kids started work by making their own Ganza which is a Samba shaker. They will be continuing this work over the coming weeks, building a range of different percussion pieces. It was a lovely atmosphere; really focussed and happy. Can’t wait for the performance!
