Today in Forest School, Year 4 explored the use of new tools, created remembrance plaques for their chicken and made shelters.
Safely using gimlet drills, we created holes to hang string from them – it took a long, long time but, being resilient, patience and persevering, they did it – the children were very pleased with the results.
We also used a new tool – a knife! We were very safe using it: knowing how to position ourselves sitting down, knowing our “blood bubble” around us, understanding how to use it safely and being trustworthy under Miss Metcalf’s supervision. Miss Metcalf was very impressed by how safely the children used it and how well they explained to each other how to use it carefully and keep each other safe.
Well done Nelson class!
