This term’s Working as Artists project got off to a flying start today with children across the school engaged in a range of circus-themed activities. Year 3 worked really hard in small teams to create puppet characters and a story line for a short puppet show that they showcase to their peers tomorrow morning. Year 4 spent the morning reflecting on the amazing whole-school trip to the circus at the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome as they prepared for a short recount. Year 5 spent the afternoon working with Marcus and Anna from Sistema Norwich to develop the characters for their circus opera, and Year 6 worked started off by recording their circus questions before breaking into teams to find out about circus greats. It was a wonderful and productive atmosphere around school, with a lot of happy children working hard and looking forward to the upcoming project. Tomorrow will see circus taster sessions with coaches from Lost in Translation, a short ‘history of circus’ workshop, and some circus-themed art.
