Thanks to Mrs Kirkland for creating this amazing reading corner in Stark class. We had all been thinking about different ways of promoting reading and displaying the books the children ordered from the School Library Service. I wanted to use pallets, Mr Whalen suggested hanging books from bulldog clips. Mrs K supplied the baskets and the camouflage netting. On Tuesday evening, after the children had gone and I was in a meeting Mrs K got to work. The class loved it when they arrived this morning. In the pictures above they are playing Minibeast Top Trumps using the beautiful cards they made yesterday.
The class have worked so hard this week. Internet research enabled them to find facts and pictures for their Top Trump cards. They completed a habitat audit on Tuesday to identify the habitats we already have on the field and the ones we need to introduce. This produced some great data handling work. Today they wrote a recount of the audit. They worked all day drafting and redrafting, but I hope they think the hard work was worth it. I certainly do as they produced some great writing. Well done everyone.
