12th February

What an exciting end to the Half Term!

Visitors, Empty Classroom Activities, stars of the week and a cake sale!!

First up – Stars of the Week… All of Year 3 are stars of the week for their outstanding behaviour, willingness to learn and listening skills on our visit to Tesco this week! Well done everyone!!

Empty Classroom Day

Drake and Stark classes welcomed Maggie and Paul from Norwich City Council. Our aim – To assist with the development of the Wensum View Play Area (The park next to the school field.) We welcomed them into our classroom to share their aims for the morning and the exciting plans for the park over the next few weeks. After this Stark class headed outside to begin the planting of 1000 snowdrops!! After an hour of planting the classes swapped over and Drake headed out to finish off the work! All 1000 snowdrops planted just before the rain arrived!! Good work Year 3’s!!

Cake Sale

After our day of baking on Thursday, the Friends of Wensum, assisted by Jack from Drake class set out to sell the cakes and biscuits so generously donated by the families of WJS!! In two selling opportunities a grand total of nearly £130 was raised and will be going towards the wood to build the Year 3’s Square Foot Garden boxes!! Watch this space for further developments!!!

Final Thanks

Without the wonderful support from all the Families and Friends of the children in our class all of the activities we have imagined, planned and delivered would never have been possible! As a team we have loved working with everyone in the Year group and we are looking forward to our next exciting Half Term together!!

Best Wishes for a restful half term – All of the Year 3 Team!

Mr Whalen, Mr Hubery, Mrs Howard, Miss Fiddament and Mrs Kirkland!
