In December Stark class went outside to do some fraction work on the field. Basically we used sticks to create and divide up shapes and then leaves and other scavenged stuff to ‘shade fractions of the whole’. It was a beautiful December morning and perfect for photographs. I wanted to share the experience with Juliet Robertson, founder of Creative Star Learning which is a website and blog resource for teachers using the great outdoors for learning. I sent her some photos and she asked me if she could use them on her blog. The blog post eventually went live on Thursday this week. The post is entitled Leaf Fraction Walls and you can read it via this link: Creative Star Learning blog.
