Year 3 make a digestive system

Today, year 3 were grossed out by a model of a digestive system. We put weetabix and beans into the mouth (a bowl), added saliva (water), and crushed it up with teeth (a spoon). Then it went into the stomach (a glove) where it was mixed with digestive juices (more water!). We mushed it up so it was more liquid. Then it went into the intestines (a sock!) where we squeezed it to get the water out. When we had lots of the water out, we squeezed it out of the sock – we don’t need to mention what our ‘digested food’ now represented!
