What an amazing day; a unique opportunity to work as professionals with professionals. As the Fiercest Light project moves into its final phase, 10 children worked with BBC Voices, Neil Storey, Nichol from The Writers Centre and singer/songwriter Milly Hirst to bring all their ideas together. First thing this morning the children worked with staff from BBC Voices to learn about film making. This was followed by a moving visit to the Commonwealth war graves at the cemetery during which time children found out about the history and role of this special place before recording their poetic verses. After lunch, the children met local singer/songwriter Milly Hirst to explore how their words will be turned into an original song. BBC voices will now take away all the film footage taken today and edit into a short film which will be shown at Cinema City on November 11th. The children worked really hard today and were a credit to their families and the school. Some lovely feedback from the people working with them today. Well done everyone.
