Turner class enjoyed their second session of Forest Schools today. Wrapped up and waterproofed, we went out and got to work. Miss Lewis led an activity where we had to think of a new purpose for sticks we scavenged. The ‘it’s not a stick’ game allowed us to use our imaginations to create metaphors. In our hands we held wands, fishing rods, spears, swords, brooms and brushes, mud stirers, unicorn horns and deer antlers. We then had to work in teams to create a raft. Teamwork, perseverance and imagination all played a part. At the end of the session we discussed which were the most effective or ‘rafty’.
