From September 2016 each class will have an hour of cooking a week for 6 weeks. Each class is divided into two with one half doing cooking in the morning and the other half doing Forest Schools. In the afternoon they switch. Children will learn all about the importance of making healthy choices with their food alongside a range of practical food preparation skills as they produce a selection of predominantly savoury hot and cold dishes. We launched this programme with our new Year 3 and Finchley class have just completed our inaugural block. This culminated with the children and staff enjoying their own homemade vegetable soup around a campfire.
