History Statement of Intent

History at Wensum is about finding out what life in the past was like and drawing comparisons with our lives today. It includes learning about local, national and international history. The curriculum has been designed so that children are revisiting learning and it enables them to use this embedded knowledge and vocabulary in a range of contexts.  Our programme of study is designed so that all key areas of History are covered over a 4 year cycle, from Ancient Times to the Present Day.  Our aim at Wensum is to develop historians who are curious and interested in the world around them.
